The story of Achros begins in 3006 B.C. when Krinzali Whitlock was born. She grew up with a passion for biology and lived by the philosophy that humans were far from finished with their evolutionary journey; they just needed to create that evolution with the help of science. She eventually became the head of a research team at a bioengineering company. This company was widely known for their world-changing medical developments, but behind the scenes they were secretly working on ways to genetically engineer humans. Krinzali’s team was an odd group of people that the company soon gave up on trying to monitor, so they were given an insane task that no one thought was possible: Invent Magic. After decades of hard work, they developed a genetic mutation that allowed humans to manipulate atoms directly. It worked by allowing the human body to harness the electricity it generated to create hyper-focused magnetic fields to control materials around them. They called it Elemancy. Krinzali and her team spend more decades perfecting the use of this power. They used it to maintain their bodies and live for centuries. During this time, the use of this gene on the public was never approved, but they did use frequent test subjects. Instead of disposing of them, they had them live in a secret community away from the rest of civilization until the world was ready to experience Magic.
At some point, Krinzali found a potential way to make human DNA completely resistant to radiation. Her team did not want to develop such a gene, as they were afraid of what may happen if any human was able to manipulate radioactive material. But Krinzali started work on it anyway, unable to be convinced otherwise. In 3575 A.D., Krinzali was close to developing the gene. There was still nothing the other researchers could do to convince her to stop, so they gathered 100 of the most powerful magic users in the world and imprisoned Krinzali in Earth’s moon. A few hundred years passed, and Krinzali had honed her magic skills enough to be able to manipulate things outside of her rocky prison. Her banishers caught onto this and sent her into orbit around an uninhabited planet halfway across the galaxy. This planet, which we will call Achros, just happened to be in the goldilocks zone with a suitable atmosphere, and the surface was completely covered in a shallow ocean. Krinzali was able to slowly nudge the moon closer to the planet, eventually crashing into it and pushing a large amount of land above the water.
Now going by the name of Kryn, she used her magic to create all kinds of plants and animals on Achros. It took her a long time to hone her skills enough to be able to create things on the surface. In all, it was about 800,000 years before the surface was complete, all flora and fauna in their place. But there was one thing missing: sentient life. Kryn waited 50 million years for sentient life to develop, but no civilizations were successful. So she created a sentient species in the image of humans in the forests of Ozon, giving them the ability to harness her own energy to boost their magic power. However, they were not able to use this power outside of Ozon, so they couldn’t expand into the rest of Achros because the flora and fauna had become rather dangerous over the past 50 million years.
Eventually, Kryn got bored of there only being one sentient race, though another had emerged in southern Ozon. Less intelligent though. Animal-like. Weather was not the problem for expanding Ozonians, it was the hostile ecosystems. So the race she created to live in modern-day Ardross and Selethil were designed to be very intelligent. They are very similar to humans, the main differences being their large ears, six fingers, and hardened bone structures on their elbows, knees, knuckles, and chins. Their heightened intelligence combined with their combat-ready bodies made them excellent fighters and magic wielders, fit to survive the Achrosian wilderness. After a few thousand years, a cult was formed with the purpose of figuring out how to edit their own DNA to be able to control radioactive elements. They succeeded in this, using that power to wreak havoc upon the world. Kryn knew she needed to put a stop to this, so she created a race of giant humanoid automatons, who wiped out most of the people in Ardross and Selethil in order to eradicate the cult. After their purpose was served, Kryn created the Zmthrad circle and commanded all the Giants to enter it and enter an eternal slumber. And then some other stuff happened and like 500 thousand years passed and blah blah whatever this part doesn’t really matter.
